If A can do as much work in 4 hours as B can do in 6 hours or as C can do in 8 hours. They
started work together for 1 hr after that they work alternately hour by hour starting with Afollowed

Let qty.of work done by A in 4 hrs be x.
So part of work done by A in 1hr =x/4
Part of work done by B in 1 hr = x/6
Part of work done by C in 1 hr = 1/8
Part of work done by A working 8 hrs.and B working 18 hrs. = 8(x/4)+18(x/6)
= 2x + 3x = 5x
No.of days taken by C to finish x part=8
So no.of days taken by C to finish 5x part
= 5×8 = 40 hrs
ie.no.of days taken by C to finish 1/3 of the work = 40 hrs.
So no.of hrs.takem by C to finish the work = 3×40 = 120 hrs.
