Answer:

1/24, 1/36, and 1/48 are the individual work rates.

After 4 days, 4/24+4/36+4/48 has been completed. 1/6+1/9+1/12 is 13/36.

B worked alone for 3 days, so 3/36 was completed.

16/36 of work is accounted for. So the remaining work time is 20/36 of job completed by A and B.

A and B can do 2.5/36 a day. A and B worked 14.4 days.

4 days+ 14.4 days+ 3 days is 21.4 days.

Now consider if they had all worked together, the job is complete in under 3 days.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

total work is l.c.m of (16,36,48)=144

A's unit work is 144/16=9

B's unit work is 144/36=4

C's unit work is 144/48=3

A's work in 4 days is 4*9=36

B's work in (4+5)days is 9*4=36

C's work in 9 days is 9*3=27

work done by A,B and C are (36+36+27)=99

remaining work is 144-99=45

45 unit work done by C is 45/3= 15 days
