There are two cases where displacement must be zero

- If the object move has moved some distance and returned at the same initial point in the end then the displacement is zero.

- If the object doesn't travel any distance then displacement must be zero.

Now, if a car moves in a circular park then displacement will be zero. Because it's starting and ending point are same.

Let's take another example to understand this.

You went to a market which is 12 km apart from your house.

Now, from home to market your travel a distance of 12 km and from market to home again 12 km.

So, the total distance covered by you is 24 km.

But here the starting and ending points are the same. So the displacement by you is zero.
