Given:-

A car travels at a speed of 80 km/h for half of its travel time and 60 km/h for the remaining half of the time.

To Find:-

  • the total speed of that car.

Solution:-

Let the Time taken will be= t.

we know that:-

speed of car in during first half time= 80km/h

so,

Distance covered=80t km

as,

\sf Speed= \frac{distance}{time}

Also:-

speed of car in during second half time= 60km/h.

so,

Distance covered=60t km.

 \sf \: Total  \: Distance  = (80t + 60t)km

 =  > 140t \: km

and

 \sf \: Total  \: time = 2t

in the question it is saying to find the total speed

So, \sf \colorbox{red} Total \:Speed= \frac{total \:distance}{total \:speed}

 =  >  \frac{140t  \: km}{2t \: hr}

 =  > total \: speed =  \frac{70km}{hr}

∴ the total speed of that car is 70km/hr.
