Answer:

Given that, sum of money become triples after 8 years 9 months ,

Let the sum of money be x

Time is 8 years 9 month

After 8 yiears 9 months it triples . So it becomes 3x.

Time = 8+9/12 = 25/2 years

So the simple interest is 3x−x=2x

Let, the rate of interest be y.

So , SI = PTR/100

= x×25/2×y

________

100

2x = x× 25/2×y

_________

100

2x= x× 12.5×y

________

100

200 x = 12.5xy

200x

_____. = y

12.5x

on solving ,

16 = y

so simple interest per annum is 16%

hope u are satisfied !!
