the length of the chord = 12 cm so when the distance from the centre is 8cm

radius is equal to a line drawn from the centre of a circle to any part of a circle

let the chord be the base of a triangle so as a line is drawn from the centre which is 8 cm it bisects the chord and so it is the height

when the chord gets bisected it becomes half so now the length of the chord is 6 cm

now the hypotenuse of the triangle will be the radius..

so hypotenuse sq. = base sq + altitude sq.

OB^2 = OA^2 + AB^2

= 8^2 + 6^2

=64+36

=100 ROOT

=10 CM

SO THE RADIUS OF THE CIRCLE = 10 CM
