If a circuit consists of four 1000 ohms resistance with 220v suppple what is ammeter reading

first of all if combination is series then

total resistance r=4*1000=4000 ohm

then ammeter reading will be i=v/r

i=220/4000

i=0.055 ampere or 55 milli ampere

now if the combination is parallel then

total resistance=1/r=4/1000=1/250

r=250 ohm

hence current=220/250

i=0.88 ampere or 880 milli ampere
