This is basically the same question as “whats the probability of not getting two heads if two coins are tossed" . So the probability of getting two heads is 25% or 1/4. Because of that the probability for at least one tail is 1-1/4 which is equal to 3/4.

If a coin is tossed twice, what is the probability of not getting a tail at least once?

.

The possible outcomes are:

1 2

H H

H T

T H

T T

Only one of these outcomes is ‘favourable’ in that no Tail occurs, and that is the first combination of two heads H H

The chance is therefore one in four = 1/4 = 0.25
