If a colourless solution (A) remains colourless after adding
phenolphthalein in it, what will be your conclusion regarding the nature of the solution? Mention an appropriate indicator to identify the nature of this solution.

Since colour of phenolphthalein is colourless either in acidic or in neutral medium the solution must be either of them.

Any appropriate indicator in the case must be one which behaves differently in acidic and in neutral medium.

Hence, use blue litmus here. So, if the solution is neutral colour of the litmus will remain unchanged and if acidic it will turn to blue.
