The main problem is that others can't rely on him. when in life and death situation, if you can't rely on your co-worker, it might cost lives.

cowards get stunned when they see all those dilemma they haven't experienced in their life. all the blood, ruins and chaos can make them malfunction, with no idea of what to do or how to react. Thus you can't depend on your partner even to take care of himself and so he becomes a liability.
