We have, δ = Dipole moment / d = (1.2 × 10–18 esu cm)/(1.0 × 10–8) cm \ = 1.2 × 10–10 esu.


Therefore, fraction of electronic charge on each end = (1.2 × 10–10)/(4.8 × 10–10), = 0.25 = 25%.
