After DNA S-phase amount if DNA is doubled but chromosomes number remains same as they separate at Anaphase stage. So correct answer will be 20 chromosomes and 64C DNA.

Given:
a diploid cell with 20 chromosomes and 32 C DNA enters a cell cycle.
To find:
Amount of chromosomes and DNA after S phase?
Calculation:
In S phase (a part of Interphase : SYNTHETIC PHASE), the cell duplicate majority of its cellular organelles, DNA, histone proteins, etc. which can be later divided among the daughter cells.
- So, DNA gets duplicated (i.e. doubled) in amount, but NUMBER OF CHROMOSOMES REMAINS SAME !
So, after S phase :
- 64 C DNA
- 20 chromosomes
will be seen in the cell.
Hope It Helps.
