If a discount of 10% be given on the M.P. of a shirt, the seller gains 20%. If the discount is
increased to 15%, what will be the gain percent?

★ SOLUTION:-

● Let the marked price is 100

● Discount 10%= Rs. 10

● Sale price= Rs. 90

Let SP be the Selling Price

and CP be the Cost Price

For a sale price of Rs. 90 the publisher gains= 20% .

★ So cost price

= S.P /(100+dis%) x 100 =90/(100+20) x100 = 75.

If the publisher allows a discount of 15%

★ Then

Sale Price will be= Rs.85.

So Profit% =(85–75)/75 x100

= 13.33% .
