If a dry paper is teared , then it makes sound . But , when it is dipped in water and is wet , then it does not make any sound. This question came in my mind yesterday , and i search a lot to get actual deeper reason and i got idea. But , i am sharing to get some good ideas of different students . Share me your reason about this phenomenon.

A dry paper is made up of wood bark which consists cellulose strands or fiber and when it is tear it makes characteristic sound due to the breakage of chemical bond between various particles /tissues in it.

This is because when the paper was torn dry, the intermolecular spaces were rapidly filled with the air molecules, whereas in the wet paper, water molecules already took up the intermolecular spaces. So, there was no displacement of the molecules.
Explanation:
I got this idea from the thunder created due to lightning. It is created due to rapid heating of molecules in the air, causing lots of intermolecular spaces, and then air replacing it.
