q = magnitude of charge on electron =  1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ Coulombs

ΔV = potential difference through which electron is moved = 1000 Volts

W = energy gained by the electron as it is moved through the potential difference

energy gained by the electron is given as

W = q ΔV

inserting the above values in the above equation

W = (1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹) (1000)

W =  1.6 x 10⁻¹⁶ Joules

Answer:Formal charges help in the selection of the lowest energy structure from the number of possible

Lewis structure.

Lowest energy structure is the one with a factor based on a pure covalent bond between the two

atoms.
