If A exceeds B by 40% and B is less than C by 20%, than A : C is

let the c=x

B=x-20/100x

=x(1-0.2)

B=0.8

A=0.8x(1+40/100)

=0.8x1.4

=1.12x

A/B=1.12X/X

=112/100=28/25

A:B=28:25
