Let C has got value x
A/Q ,
B is less than C by 20 %,
then B would be = x-20x/100 = x - 0.2x = 0.8x
Now A/Q ,
A is more than B by 40,
that implies A = 0.8x+40(0.8x)/100 = 0.8x . 1.4 = 1.12x
A:C = 1.12x/ x = 1.12
Or say A exceeds C by 12 %
Hope my answer is correct.
