If a farmer is growing leguminous plants then he doesn't need to use nitrogen fertilizer as leguminous plants helps in fixing nitrogen in soil and helps the main crop .

Leguminous plants have the ability to trap nitrogen in the soil. So the farmer who grows them does not have to add nitrogen fertiliser to the soil.
