If a few leaves of a potted plant are coated with a thin layer of Vaseline or oil, what effect would it have on the leaves ?

The respiration will not take place effectively in the plant.

Respiration and photosynthesis will not take place .

Explanation:

If the leaves are coated with Vaseline or oil , it will block the stomata . As a result , the plant will not get oxygen for respiration . It would not get carbon dioxide to carry out photosynthesis . Ultimately the plant will die soon after
