If a force of 5000 N is applied over a vehicle of 4000 kg, then in how much time will the speed of the vehicle will increase from 20 m/s to 120 m/s?

Mass, m = 4000 kg

Let acceleration be a , time be t and

Initial velocity, u = 20 m/s

Final velocity, v = 120 m/s

Explanation:

As , F = m×a

5000 = 4000 × a

=> a = 5000/4000 = 5/4 = 1.25 m/s²

Using first law of motion

v = u + at

=> t = v - u

=> t = 120 - 20

1.25

=> t = 100 × 100 = 20 × 4 = 80 seconds
