if a fraction 2 x of the numerator is 4 more than the denominator if 5 is added to the numerator and to the denominator the fraction is 4/3 find the original fraction​

Let the fraction be p/q, the numerator is 5 more than is denominator, therefore p=q+5,when 5 is added to its denominator the fraction becomes p/5+q.

p/5+q

=5+q/5+q (p=5+q)

=1

Now, it is stated that by doing so the fraction is decreased by 5/4.

Therefore we can say,

p/q-5/4=1

p/q=1+5/4

p/q=9/4

We can check our answer by substitution

9/4–5/4=1

4/4=1

1=1
