the lcm for 18,24,32 is 288 then the ans is 292(288÷4)
for this type of questions add remainder with lcm

The smallest number of plants in the garden is 292.

Given,

The gardener arranges dome plants in rows of 18,24or32 plants.

4 plants are left in each case.

To Find,

The smallest number of plants in the garden.

Solution,

Let the smallest number be 'x.'

if 4 plants are left in each.

Then, the smallest number = x +4

To find the value of x, we have to take the LCM of 18.24 and 32.

So, let's understand the concept of LCM.

LCM stands for Least Common Multiple.

In mathematics, LCM refers to the process of finding the smallest common multiple between two or more numbers. Common multiples are numbers that are multiples of two or more numbers.

Let's take the LCM of the numbers 18,24, and 32.

18 = 2 × 3 × 3

24 = 2 × 3 × 4

32 = 2 × 2 ×2 × 2 × 2

So, the LCM of 18,24 and 32 is 2 × 2 ×2 × 2 × 2 ×3 ×3 ×4

= 288

So, the value of x is 288

And the smallest number = x + 4.

= 288 +4

=292.

The smallest number of plants in the garden is 292.
