if the glass rod attracts the ebonite rod it is positive as unlike charges attract and if the silk cloth repel its negative as like charges repel

see normally glass rods are positive charged they tend to acquire this charge when rubbed against silk
and as the silk is rubbed it aquires the opposite charge
