If A has 3 elements and b has 2 elements find the number of functions from A-B

Since sets A and B have 2 and 3 elements respectively. So their Cartesian product A×B would have 6(=2×3) elements.

We also know, any subset of A×B is a relation from set A to set B. But cardinal number of the set A×B is 6.

So maximum number of relations from set A to set B is = total number of subsets of the set A×B

=26

=64.†
