______☺️Hola mate!!☺️_____

By using Pythagoras theorem ;

(Altitude )^2 = (hypotenuse )^2-.

(base)^2

=(17)^2-(15)^2

= 289 - 225

= 64

Altitude = √64 = 8 cm

GIVEN

Hypotenuse=>17cm

Base=>15cm

Altitude=> ?

SOLUTION.

  \fcolorbox{pink}{orange}{by \: pythagores \: theorm}

 {h}^{2}  =  {b}^{2}  +  {p}^{2}  \\  \\  {(17)}^{2}   =  {(15)}^{2}  +  {(p)}^{2}  \\  \\ 289 = 225 +  {(p)}^{2}  \\  \\ 289 - 225 =  {(p)}^{2}  \\  \\ 64 =  {(p)}^{2}  \\  \\ p =  \sqrt{64 } \\  \\  \color{hotpink} \boxed{p =  > 8}

Note

P= perpendicular or also called altitude.

H= hypontuse

B=Base
