If a<0 and b<0 then the point (a,b) lies in quadrant

Then,

a = abscissa                 b = ordinate

a = negative                  b = negative

Abscissa(x-axis) is negative and ordinate(y-axis) is negative in third quadrant.

Any point which lies in this quadrant is (-4,-2).

There are infinite points possible in that quadrant.
