a= if a lighten splint is put into CO2 the flame course out it is not a very good test for CO2 because the gas can't be check because the flame is going out without any gaseous reaction

b= most suitable test first year to can be lime water which is the mixture of calcium carbonate and water we can do this buy your process in which we will take baking soda in a test tube and a vinegar in the baking soda and we will put a pipe which goes to the another test tube in which lime water is there if the lime water turns into milky then it's yours that the gas evolves in the reaction is CO2.
