Let the center be O. ABCD is the chord for bigger circle. BC is the chord for the smaller.
Draw OE as perpendicular (bisector too) to ABCD from O.
Now AE= ED. and BE = EC.
AB = AE- BE
CD = ED- EC = AB

AB = AE- BE
CD = ED- EC = AB
