if a man jumps out from a boat ,the boat moves backwardward .why?​

According to newton's third law of motion, every reaction has equal and opposite action.

When a man jumps out of a boat he applies a force on it.

Since friction on surface of water is little as compared to land, therefore the action pushes the boat backwards.
