Let the Cost price of the Chair is X.
SP = X - 25% of X
720 = 0.75X
X = 960.
CP = Rs. 960.
So, To gain 25%, SP would be
= 960 + 25% of 960 =Rs. 1200.

Given:- Loss of 25% when furniture sold at 720

Now, let the CP be x
x \times  \frac{(100  -  25)}{100}  = 720 \\ x \times  \frac{75}{100}  = 720 \\ x \times 0.75 = 720 \\ x =  \frac{720}{0.75 }  \\ x = 960
Now for profit of 25%
 = 960 \times  \frac{100 + 25}{100}  \\  = 960 \times  \frac{125}{100}  \\  = 960 \times 1.25 \\  = 1200
He must sell it at Rs1200 to gain 25%
