  • The time taken to walk 20.4 km.

SOLUTION :-

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Distance Travelled (x) 17 km. 20.4km.

___________________________________

Time taken (y) 5 hours. y

--------------------------------------------------------------------

It vary Directly,

➸ x₁ / y₁ = x₂ / y₂

➸ 17/5 = 20.4/y

➸ 17 × y = 20.4 × 5

➸ y = (20.4 × 5)/17

➸ y = 102/17

y = 6

Hence the time taken to walk 20.4 km is 6 hours.

WE WILL SOLVE IT LIKE THIS -

A MAN WALKS = 17KM

IN HOW MUCH TIME =5HRS.

IF HE WALKS = 20.4KM.

THEN IN HOW MUCH TIME= 20.4 ×5 ÷7

20.4 × 5 = 112

112 ÷ 17 = 6

IT MEANS TIME TAKEN TO WALK 20.4 KM WILL BE 6HRS.
