Kinetic energy is given as

KE = (0.5) m v²

m = mass , v = speed

as the speed is made 1.5 times, the new kinetic energy is given as

KE' = (0.5) m ((1.5) v)²

KE' = (2.25) (0.5) m v²

KE' = (2.25) KE

so the kinetic energy becomes 2.25 times
