The momentum will be halved because momentum=mass×velocity

Let's take an example

The mass of an object is 6 kg

And its speed is 12 m/s

The momentum will be 12×6=72

Now if the velocity is halved

Then velocity is 6

And mass is 6

So the momentum will be 6×6=36

The second momentum is half of the first momentum

So when the speed of an object is halved it's momentum is also halved

HOPE IT HELPS

Ciao,
as we know p= m.v meabs momentun is directly proportional with mass and velocity if we double mass or velocity ,momentum will be doubled and if we half any one of these factors momentum will be halfed.so your answer is momentum will be halved if we half the speed.
i really hope that you will find it helpful.stay blessed☺
