Let the number be x
Given:
x-10%x=54
$= > x - \frac{10x}{100} = 54 \\ = > \frac{100x - 10x}{100} = 54 \\ = > 90x = 5400 \\ = > x = \frac{5400}{90} \\ = > x = 60$
Now the number 54 is increased back to 60 again,therefore
$54 + \frac{54x}{100} = 60 \\ = > \frac{54x}{100} = 6 \\ = > \frac{x}{100} = \frac{6}{54} = \frac{1}{9}$
$= > x = \frac{100}{9} \\ = > x = 11 \frac{1}{9} \% \\ = > x = 11.11\%$
