Question :- A number divided by 4 increased by 6 is equal to 10. Find the number.

Answer :-

Let the number be x

The number when divided by x becomes, \dfrac{x}{4}

The number when divided by x increased by 6 becomes, \dfrac{x}{4} + 6

The number when divided by x increased by 6 is equal to 10 becomes, \dfrac{x}{4} + 6 = 10

According to the question,

\dfrac{x}{4} + 6 = 10

=> \dfrac{x}{4} = 10 - 6

=> \dfrac{x}{4} = 4

=> x = 4 × 4

=> x = 16

∴ The value of x = 16
