Solution:-

Let us assume that number = x

If the number is doubled,

x + x

= 2x

The result is decreased by 6

2x - 6

We get

64

To Find:-

Number

So,

2x - 6 = 64

⟹ 2x = 64 + 6

⟹ 2x = 70

⟹ x = {\frac{70}{2}}

⟹ x = 35

Now, let us do the verification

2x - 6 = 64

⟹ 2(35) - 6 = 64

⟹ 70 - 6 = 64

⟹ 64 = 64

\therefore L.H.S = R.H.S

Required Answer:-

Number = 35
