Given :-

◉ Particles moves from origin to 30 cm left and 50 cm right in 6 second.

To Find :-

◉ Distance, Displacement, Speed, Velocity

Solution :-

We know, Distance is the actual path length, here the total path length travelled by the particle is:

30 + 50

80 cm

Similarly, Displacement is the shortest distance between the final and initial position. Let the direction of the particle on its left side be negative and on the right side be positive.

∴ Displacement = -30 + 50

Displacement = 20 cm

Also, Speed is the rate of change of distance per unit time. Here, the distance travelled by the particle is 80 cm and the time taken is 6 s

∴ Speed = 80/6

⇒ Speed = 13.33 cm/s

Now, The velocity is the rate of change of displacement per unit time, So displacement of the particle is 20 cm and time taken is 6 s

∴ Velocity = 20 / 6

⇒ Velocity = 3.33 cm/s

Hence, The particle has:

  • Distance travelled = 80 cm
  • Displacement made = 20 cm
  • Speed = 13.33 cm/s
  • Velocity = 3.33 cm/s
