Answer:

This happens due to the formation of memory cells in our body and as the pathogen enters our body , the memory cell recognizes the pathogen and eliminates it . This is because when the immune system of our body first come across an infectious organism like a virus causing small pox, it responds against virus and then remembers it specifically. When next time particular microbe or its closer relatives enter the body, immune system of the body responds with the pathogen even with greater vigor . This eliminates the infection more quickly than the first time and thus we do not suffer with disease again.

Answer:

The person who had once suffered from small pox is less likely to get small pox again as the body’s immune system gets activated and is now aware of this disease and knows how to deal with this disease .

This is the simplest way I can explain.

Hope it helps
