If a person walks at 14 km/hr instead of 12 km/hr, he would have walked 1 km more in the same time. What is the actual distance (in kms) travelled by him at 12 km/hr in the same time?

Solution

let required time is =t hours

now...

distance covered in time t with the velocity 14km/h is=14t km

and with 12km/h is =12t

now...

14t-12t=1

=>t=0.5 hours

distance covered by him at 12km/h

=12(0.5)km=6km
