Pressure exerted by one feet = 240 pa

  • Force by feet on the land = 60N
  • Area occupied by the feet = 0.25 m²

_______________________

As we know that ,

Pressure = Force ÷ Area

By the given information ,

♦ Force on each feet = 60/2 = 30N

♦ Area occupied by one feet = 0.25/2 = 0.125m²

So ,

⇒ Pressure = 30 ÷ 0.125

⇒ Pressure = 30 ÷ 125/1000

⇒ Pressure = 30 ÷ 25/200

⇒ Pressure = 30 ÷ 5/40

⇒ Pressure = 30 ÷ 1/8

⇒ Pressure = 30 × 8

Pressure = 240 N/ or pa

Answer:

Given :-

  • A person weight is 60 Newton stands on both feet of area 0.25 square metre.

To Find :-

  • What is the pressure exerted on one feet.

Formula Used :-

{\red{\boxed{\large{\bold{Pressure =\: \dfrac{Force}{Area}}}}}}

Solution :-

Given :

  • Force = 60 N
  • Area = 0.25 m²

According to the question by using the formula we get,

\sf Pressure =\: \dfrac{60 \times 100}{25}

\sf Pressure =\: \dfrac{6000}{25}

\sf Pressure =\: \dfrac{\cancel{6000} \: \: ^{1200}}{\cancel{25} \: \: ^{5}}

\sf Pressure =\: \dfrac{\cancel{1200} \: \: ^{240}}{\cancel{5} \: \: ^{1}}

\sf Pressure =\: \dfrac{240}{1}

\sf\bold{\purple{Pressure =\: 240\: N/{m}^{2}}}

\therefore The pressure exerted on one feet is 240 N/ .
