Also, photosynthesis requires sunlight and sunlight is available during the day so this process is possible.

Photosynthesis and respiration of plant is occurring during the day. If plant is releasing CO2 nad absorbing O2 then this do not mean that photosynthesis is not occurring. Respiration releases CO2. Plants are living being and burning of food intake oxygen and release Carbo n dioxide. It is also possible that there is no breakdown of Carbon and water.
