distance between A and B

√(3-0)²+(p-2)²

distance between A and C

√(p-0)²+(5-2)²

given A is equidistant from B and C

therefore

√3²+(p-2)²=√(p²+(5-2)²

squaring on both sides .square roots get cancelled

9+p²+4-4p=p²+3²

p²+9-9-p²-4+4p=0

4p-4=0

p=1
