we know that the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other and therefore the mid poits of the diagonals are a same point....

now the mid point of the diagonal..BD

=((2-4)/2,(3-3)/2)

=(-1,0)

and the mid point of the Diagonal..AC..is

=((1+a)/2,(-2+2)/2)

=((1+a)/2,0)

now ...as the mid points are same ....so...

=>(1+a)/2=-1

=>a+1=-2

=>a=-2-1=-3
