If a point C lies between two points A and B such that AC = BC, then prove that AC = AB. Explain by drawing the figure.​

Solution :-

Given : a point C lies between two points A and B such that AC = BC.

To prove : AC = ½AB.

Proof :

AC = BC

Adding AC both side we get,

=> AC + AC = BC + AC

=> 2AC = AB (AC + CB coincide with AB)

=> AC = ½AB

Hence,

AC = ½AB proved.
