IF A PUMP CAN PUMP A WATER IN A TANK IN 15 DAYS NONSTOP AND ANOTHER CAN FILL THE SAME TANK IN 50 DAYS WITH LEAKAGE OF 2ML PER MINUTE.THE CAPACITY OF TANK IS 400 LTR. CAN THE TANK BE FILLED, IF YES THEN IN HOW MANY DAYS. IF NO THEN THE REASON?

V = 400 Ltr
Draining rate of pump A = 400 ltr / 15 * 24 hour = 10/9 litr/hour = 1.1111 litre / hour
Filling Rate of pump B = (400 litre + 0.002 *60*24*50) / 50 =
= 8 + 2.88 = 10.88 litre / day = 10.88 / 24 = 0.4533 litre /hour
Draining rate of Pump A is higher than filling rate of pump B.
So tank cannot be filled, if both pumps are switched on continuously.
