When a source of light is falling perpendicularly on a plane mirror, the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection is same because they are in a same line at 0°. They incident in a same line and reflect in the same line. So it is a straight path of light.

When a light is falling perpendicularly on a plane mirror we can say,

Ang. \: i = Ang. \: r
