To deal with this question,

Let's understand this line,

Every square is a rectangle But Every rectangle need not be a square.

So We are given,

A = Rectangles

B = Squares.

A intersection B can be told as the common elements among the sets A, B

A has rectangles, B has squares which are also rectangles.

But All rectangles aren't squares

Hence, A intersection B ≠ Rectangles.

We can say that,

A contains rectangles in which some are squares, B contains entirely squares. Common property is Squares.

Therefore, A intersection B = Squares .

Intersection & Union

It is worth talking about the two in this question.

Intersection of the two sets is the common elements which belong to the both the sets. Geometrically if two sets represented as the Venn diagrams, then the portion common to them is the intersection.

Union of the two sets is the common elements which belong to the atleast one of the sets. Geometrically if two sets represented as the Venn diagrams, then the portion atleast belonging to one of the sets is their union.
