Let its width be x m
Area of rectangular field = 15*20 = 300 sq. m
Area of path = 156 sq. m
Total area = 456 sq. m
Therefore, 456 = (15 + 2x)*(20 + 2x)
=> 4x² + 70x - 156 = 0
=>2x² + 35x - 78 = 0
=>2x(x - 2) + 39(x - 2) = 0
=> x = 2 m
Therefore, the path's width is 2m

Hope it Helps!
