According the question a rectangular plot's length and breadth is 18m and 12m respectively and this plot has two intersecting roads;

Road no. 1 Length = 12m   ( given)

Breadth = 4m                      ( given)

And road no. 2                   ( given)

length = 18m                      ( given)

breadth = 2m                     ( given)

We have to find the area of the cross road .

Let,s consider the area of the cross- road = ABCD

AB = A¹B¹ =4m =length of the cross road.

BC = B¹C¹ = 2m= breadth of cross road.

Let,s find out the area of rectangle of ABCD:-

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

                              = 4m ×2m

                            = 8m²

Hence the area of the cross road will be 8m²

Ans :- The area of the cross road will be 8m².
