If a “revolution” merely replaces one authoritarian system with another, is it still a revolution? Is it still a turning point in history?

The Russian revolution was a Turning point because it was first an absolute monarchy then it was a communist government and then it became a totalitarian state. The Russians wanted political and social reforms because it had poor economic conditions.
